Let’s explore the steps to install Go or Golang (both are same btw).
I will show you the steps for Mac with Apple Silicon but you can do the same for windows and Unix system by following the documentation provided on Go official website.
Step 1:
Go to official website – https://go.dev/ and click on the download button, which will redirect you to download page. Or you can directly open download page from here – https://go.dev/dl/

Step 2:
You can choose your operating system. And click on that. I am going to choose macOS – ARM64. For me, go1.25.3.darwin-arm64.pkg got downloaded. Package name will be different based on your selected system. So, don’t worry about that.
Go and find where it got downloaded and install it. For Mac, it will open installer window like this.
Follow the instruction, it will be installed in few seconds.
Step: 3
Now, go and check if Go installed properly or not.
Open terminal or command prompt and type below command
go versionIf this shows the Go version, that means it is installed properly.
